Why the event still matters
This is earlier-game context, not a mission list for Manhattan.
| Thread | What CONTROL establishes | Why it matters at the sequel's start |
|---|---|---|
| The siblings | Jesse and Dylan experience the same childhood AWE | Their later separation drives opposite searches |
| The Slide Projector | The FBC acquires an Object of Power from Ordinary | Bureau files use terms Dylan grew up around |
| Prime Candidates | The FBC takes Dylan and monitors Jesse | Dylan's distrust has a history older than Manhattan |
02 / Field notes
What happened in Ordinary?
Jesse and Dylan were children in Ordinary when an Altered World Event brought the Slide Projector to the FBC's attention. The Bureau's response split their lives: Dylan was taken into its custody while Jesse remained outside its walls.
For the sequel, the precise order of the original game's collectible reports is less important than that separation. Jesse later entered the Oldest House looking for Dylan; Resonant begins with Dylan outside it and searching for Jesse.

What should a new player remember?
AWE means an event, not a quest type in Resonant. The Slide Projector is an Object of Power from the earlier story, not an announced piece of Dylan's equipment or a confirmed new-game collectible.
The Ordinary incident helps explain why the FBC knew about both Faden siblings and why Dylan's relationship with the agency is strained. It does not reveal how the new Manhattan crisis will be resolved.

Why Ordinary is the start of this family story
The Ordinary AWE is a past event from CONTROL's history, not a newly announced Resonant mission. Jesse and Dylan encountered the Slide Projector as children, after which the Bureau took a close interest in both. Their paths diverged: Dylan was brought into custody and marked P6, while Jesse later came to the Oldest House searching for him.
That event gives meaning to the sequel's reversal. Dylan is no longer the missing child Jesse sought inside the Bureau's headquarters; he is the playable lead looking for her outside in Manhattan. The event also explains why P6 and P7 appear in old files, but neither label is a class or skill tree in Resonant.

We keep the sequence simple—Ordinary, separation, P6, Jesse's search—and do not turn reports from the first game into Resonant missions or collectibles.
