Why is Langston associated with objects?
The Panopticon in the Oldest House held Altered Items that needed procedures rather than ordinary storage. Langston's work was to oversee those containment routines. His name therefore often appears near files about anomalous objects.
An Altered Item from CONTROL is not automatically a craftable Artifact in Resonant. The terms describe different roles in different games, even when both sound like paranormal equipment.

How much of that history carries forward?
The returning-cast reveal tells us to recognize Langston. It does not give us a reason to expect every Panopticon cell or original object file to return.
Use his old role to understand FBC vocabulary, then read any new item on its own terms. The sequel's Artifact system is about Dylan's build, not a reprint of the first game's containment inventory.
